In which Jill outlines her fall speaking schedule, and racks up the airline miles. (As if she needs more of those.)
I'm speaking at some exciting
industry events this fall and recommend all of them highly. Consider attending
one of these--you're bound to meet some cool people and learn something new. And
if you decide to come, send me an e-mail and we'll have a cocktail. Or--to keep
to a theme--a lovely glass of Sancerre.
SAS
Canada: Once again I'm reprising
my annual pilgrimage to the birthplace of my mother, Canada. Oh, Canada. You
love your data governance and data quality, don't you? (Thee?) In addition to
meeting with key SAS clients, I'll be speaking in the following cities on the
following dates:
- September 22, Toronto: Data Quality with Teeth: The Role of the
Data Steward
- September 24, Montreal: Making Data Quality Stick
- September 30, Regina: Your Data Governance Checklist for Success
DataFlux IDEAS. DataFlux has a great group of customers and prospects
and this year the conference is on Amelia Island. I'll be co-presenting with my
colleague, Kimberly Nevala, on Data Governance from the Bottom Up. Baseline's
Evan Levy will be an expert panelist on the closing panel. Amelia Island,
October 5-7.
Teradata
Partners. I'm embarrassed to say
I've been to almost every one of these conferences since their inception in the
1980s. The title of my supersession this year is "Launching Data Governance
Through Your BI Program"--a particularly apt topic for Teradata customers and
prospects! Washington D.C., October 18-22.
Midwest
Healthcare BI Summit. This new
conference is a promising one, not only because of the topic, but because of
the energy around data integration and analytics in the age of healthcare
reform. My keynote presentation is titled, "BI Strategy in Healthcare: Building
Your Roadmap." Minneapolis, October 27.
TDWI World
Conference Fall 2009: Although a
good time was had by all last year in New Orleans, the Fall TDWI conference is
once again back in Orlando. I'll be teaching BI from
Both Sides, and Kimberly Nevala and I have revamped our full-day workshop, Data
Governance for BI Professionals, for Tuesday. Baseline's Evan
Levy is one busy management consultant, delivering MDM for
BI Professionals and Gathering
MDM Requirements: A Different Formula. Orlando, November 1-6.
I'll be blogging from most of these events, which will take me right up to Thanksgiving at which point I'll probably stick a pot-pie (or my head) in the oven and call it a great Fall 2009. Looking forward to seeing you at one or more of the above events!
