As I am slowly emerging from the cocoon imposed by the needs of getting my new book on Master Data Management out the door, I am able to get back to everyday life, including two of my favorite activities (together!!) - conference attendance and blogging.
Anyway, I am currently in San Antonio attending the 2008 Information and Data Quality conference. I was able to sit in on Danette McGilvray's session on "Ten Steps to Quality Data and Trustued Information," which provides some interesting approaches to instituting data quality management activities within an organization. I also sat in on Tom Redman's session, which wa a primer on measurement and control, and that material might complement some of the webinar material I have been doing on data quality metrics. In fact, Tom and I worked together about 10 years ago, and we have a great mutual respect, and I think his session is very useful for people new to metrics and measurement.
Check out Danette's DQ book.
Check out Tom's new book.
